Assessment of Creep Properties Using Small Punch Test for a 9%Cr-Mo-Co-B Power Plant Steel

چکیده

The present study provides a feasible method to evaluate creep properties for 9%Cr-Mo-Co-B power plant steel by comparing two sets of data obtained from small punch tests and conventional uniaxial tests. includes three steps: firstly, conduct series in different load temperature conditions; secondly, convert the central deflection test stress strain data; thirdly, determinate best fit correlation factor selected models. It is found that show similar trend stress–rupture time relation, stress–minimum rate relation LMP–stress relation. factor, ksp, can effectively bridge gap between test. For high-Cr martensitic heat-resistant named as CB2, ksp value 1.4 make good prediction rupture time, while minimum Larson–Miller parameter, will lead conservative low-stress range.

Correlation Factor Study of Small Punch Creep Test and Its Life Prediction

A small punch test is one of the innovative methods that can be used to evaluate the properties of a material without destructive harm to the in-service component. Conventionally identifying material properties by a uniaxial test is widely applied to engineering. How the properties obtained from a small punch test can be applied with the same utility has been a goal. In 2006, European Code of P...

Creep Life Assessment of Primary Reformer HP40-NB Modified Steel Tube of an Ammonia Plant

Assessment of creep damage and residual creep life of a cast HP 40 Nb Mod. Reformer tube was performed, wherein the experimental Larson–Miller diagram and area fraction of creep voids were adopted. The state of damage of the tube in service was metallographically analyzed by using light and electron microscopy. Samples from the serviced reformer furnace tube were cut and prepared for void exami...

Characterization of PEEK biomaterials using the small punch test.

The small punch test is widely used to characterize the ductility and fracture resistance in metals and ceramics, when only a small volume of material is available. This study was conducted to investigate the suitability of the small punch test for characterizing polyetheretherketone (PEEK) polymeric biomaterials for changes in material grade, crystallinity, and molding process. The small punch...

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Laves-phase evolution during aging in 9Cr-1.8W-0.5Mo-VNb steel for USC power plants

Laves-phase precipitation and coarsening of tungsten strengthened 9% Cr steel under thermal aging at 923K up to 8000 h was reported in this paper, where the information of the evolution of mean particle size, the number density, the volume fraction of Laves-phase precipitates and the partition coefficients of W and Mo in the matrix over the aging time were determined. The change of hardness ove...
